چکیده

The aim of this article is to draw attention to the importance of the electric current loss in the energy output of radio pulsars. We remind that even the losses attributed to the magneto-dipole radiation of a pulsar in vacuum can be written as a result of Ampère force action of the electric currents flowing over the neutron star surface (Michel 1991, Beskin, Gurevich & Istomin 1993). It is this force that is responsible for the transfer of angular momentum of a neutron star to an outgoing magneto-dipole wave. If a pulsar is surrounded by plasma, and there is no longitudinal current in its magnetosphere, there is no energy loss (Beskin, Gurevich & Istomin 1993, Mes-tel, Panagi & Shibata 1999). It is the longitudinal current closing within the pulsar polar cap that exerts the retardation torque acting on the neutron star. This torque can be determined if the structure of longitudinal current is known. Here we remind of the solution by Beskin, Gure-vich & Istomin (1993) and discuss the validity of such an assumption. Finally, it is shown that the behaviour of the recently observed " part-time job " pulsar B1931+24 can be naturally explained within the model of current loss while the magneto-dipole model faces difficulties.

Millisecond Pulsar Ages Implications of Binary Evolution and a Maximum Spin Frequency

In the absence of constraints from the binary companion or supernova remnant, the standard method for estimating pulsar ages is to infer an age from the rate of spindown. While the generic spin-down age may give realistic estimates for normal pulsars, it can fail for pulsars with very short periods. Details of the spin-up process during the low mass X-ray binary (LMXB) phase pose additional con...

Pareto Optimal Multi-Objective Dynamical Balancing of a Slider-Crank Mechanism Using Differential Evolution Algorithm

The present paper aims to improve the dynamical balancing of a slider-crank mechanism. This mechanism has been widely used in internal combustion engines, especially vehicle engines; hence, its dynamical balancing is important significantly. To have a full balance mechanism, the shaking forces and shaking moment of foundations should be eliminated completely. However, this elimination is usuall...

Energetic Young Radio Pulsars

Young radio pulsars shed vast amounts of rotational energy, sometimes as high as 100,000 times the total energy loss rate from the sun. The wide range of phenomena resulting from this energy loss include: glitches, timing noise, jets, bow shocks, bullets and plerions and are be reviewed from an observational perspective. Past and proposed surveys for young radio pulsars are summarised along wit...

Preparation of Ni-P-CeO2 electrode and study on electrocatalytic properties for hydrogen evolution reaction

In this study ternary Ni-P-CeO2 catalysts were first synthesized by the Co-electrodeposition method on a copper substrate and then characterized by means of microstructural and electrochemical techniques toward a hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Also, for comparison other catalysts such as Ni-CeO2, Ni-P, and Ni were prepared and characterized by the same methods. The microstructure of the inv...
